Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 01
दम्भोजयोनिरसृजत् किल जीवदेहान् ।
स्थास्नूनि भूरुहमयानि तथा तिरश्चां
जातिं मनुष्यनिवहानपि देवभेदान् ॥१॥
vaikuNTha vardhita balO(a)tha bhavatprasaadaadambhOjayOnirasR^
ijat kila jiivadehaan |
sthaasnuuni bhuuruhamayaani tathaa tirashchaaM
jaatiirmanuShya nivahaanapi deva bhedaan ||
ijat kila jiivadehaan |
sthaasnuuni bhuuruhamayaani tathaa tirashchaaM
jaatiirmanuShya nivahaanapi deva bhedaan ||
Oh Lord of Vaikunta ! Due to Thy blessing, God Brahma created varieties of beings, those that grow on earth and are non-moving like trees etc., as well as the moving, like animals of human beings and the various gods like yaksha ,Kinnara in order to provide bodies for all the Jivas who takebirth according to their past Karmas.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 02
रज्ञानवृत्तिमिति पञ्चविधां स सृष्ट्वा ।
उद्दामतामसपदार्थविधानदून -
स्तेने त्वदीयचरणस्मरणं विशुद्ध्यै ॥२॥
mithyaagrahaasmimati raaga vikOpa bhiitiraj~
naana vR^ittimiti pa~nchavidhaaM sa sR^iShTvaa |
uddaama taamasa padaartha vidhaanaduunastene
tvadiiya charaNasmaraNaM vishuddhyai ||
Brahma then created the five-fold effects of ignorance i.e."false apprehension", Egoism, attachment, anger and fear. . Having created these extremely negative qualities Later he repented for creating these qualities and contemplated upon the Lord for purification.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 03
तावत् ससर्ज मनसा सनकं सनन्दंभूय: सनातनमुनिं च सनत्कुमारम् ।
ते सृष्टिकर्मणि तु तेन नियुज्यमाना-
स्त्वत्पादभक्तिरसिका जगृहुर्न वाणीम् ॥३॥
taavat sasarja manasaa sanakaM sanandaM
bhuuyaH sanaatana muniM cha sanatkumaaram |
te sR^iShTi karmaNi tu tena niyujyamaanaastvatpaada
bhakti rasikaa jagR^ihurna vaaNiim ||
Then Brahma created out of his mind, the four sages, Sanaka, Sananda, Sanatanaand Sanatkumara. Although he asked them to carry on the work of creation, But these sages were solely devoted to the worship of the Supreme Lord.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 04
तावत् प्रकोपमुदितं प्रतिरुन्धतोऽस्यभ्रूमध्यतोऽजनि मृडो भवदेकदेश: ।
नामानि मे कुरु पदानि च हा विरिञ्चे-
त्यादौ रुरोद किल तेन स रुद्रनामा ॥४॥
taavat prakOpamuditaM pratirundhatO(a)sya
bhruumadhyatO(a)jani mR^iDO bhavadekadeshaH |
naamaani me kuru padaani cha haa viri~nchetyaadau
rurOda kila tena sa rudranaamaa ||

naamaani me kuru padaani cha haa viri~nchetyaadau
rurOda kila tena sa rudranaamaa ||
Lord Brahma got angry and from between the eyebrows, RUDRA came. who was a part of Thine ownself. Mrida cried out to Brahma to provide him with names and abodes. Thus Mrida came to be known as Rudra. or one who came from tears.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 05
एकादशाह्वयतया च विभिन्नरूपंरुद्रं विधाय दयिता वनिताश्च दत्वा ।
तावन्त्यदत्त च पदानि भवत्प्रणुन्न:
प्राह प्रजाविरचनाय च सादरं तम् ॥५॥
ekaadashaahvayatayaa cha vibhinnaruupaM
rudraM vidhaaya dayitaa vanitaashcha datvaa |
taavantyadatta cha padaani bhavatpraNunnaH
praaha prajaavirachanaaya cha saadaraM tam ||
rudraM vidhaaya dayitaa vanitaashcha datvaa |
taavantyadatta cha padaani bhavatpraNunnaH
praaha prajaavirachanaaya cha saadaraM tam ||
Brahmaa then prompted by Thee, gave Rudra eleven names andgave as many wives and an equal number of places. Then he kindly requested him to help in the creative process
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 06
रुद्राभिसृष्टभयदाकृतिरुद्रसंघ-सम्पूर्यमाणभुवनत्रयभीतचेता: ।
मा मा प्रजा: सृज तपश्चर मङ्गलाये-
त्याचष्ट तं कमलभूर्भवदीरितात्मा ॥६॥
rudraabhisR^iShTa bhayadaakR^iti rudrasangha
sampuuryamaaNa bhuvanatraya bhiitachetaaH |
maa maa prajaaH sR^ija tapashchara mangalaayetyaachaShTa
taM kamalabhuurbhavadiiritaatmaa ||
Rudra's creations were frightful and he was asked to stop creation and concentrate onpenance for the welfare of the world.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 07
तस्याथ सर्गरसिकस्य मरीचिरत्रि-स्तत्राङिगरा: क्रतुमुनि: पुलह: पुलस्त्य: ।
अङ्गादजायत भृगुश्च वसिष्ठदक्षौ
श्रीनारदश्च भगवन् भवदंघ्रिदास: ॥७॥
tasyaatha sargarasikasya mariichiratristatraangiraaH
kratumuniH pulahaH pulastyaH |
angaadajaayata bhR^igushcha vasiShThadakshau
shriinaaradashcha bhagavan bhavadanghridaasaH ||
Brahma again started the work of creation Thereafter, from the body of Brahma, he created the ten great sageswere born Marichi, Atri, Angiras, Kratu,Pulaha, Pulasthya, Bhrigu, Vasishta,Daksha and Sri Narada. Among them Narada was an ardent devotee of Thy lotus feet.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 08
धर्मादिकानभिसृजन्नथ कर्दमं चवाणीं विधाय विधिरङ्गजसंकुलोऽभूत् ।
त्वद्बोधितैस्सनकदक्षमुखैस्तनूजै-
रुद्बोधितश्च विरराम तमो विमुञ्चन् ॥८॥
dharmaadikaanabhisR^ijannatha kardamaM cha
vaaNiiM vidhaaya vidhirangaja sankulO(a)bhuut |
tvadbOdhitaissanakadakshamukhaistanuujairudbOdhitashcha
viraraama tamO vimu~nchan ||

Brahma then created Dharmadeva, Kardama, Saraswathi and others. Brahma was infatuated by love at the sight of Saraswathi . He was then overcome with desire for her, his own creation He also brought out the Vedas and the Puranas and taught them to his sons. However, prompted by Thee, Sanaka Daksha and his other sons enlightened him and he gave up desire born of ignorance.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 09
वेदान् पुराणनिवहानपि सर्वविद्या:कुर्वन् निजाननगणाच्चतुराननोऽसौ ।
पुत्रेषु तेषु विनिधाय स सर्गवृद्धि-
मप्राप्नुवंस्तव पदाम्बुजमाश्रितोभूत् ॥९॥
vedaan puraaNa nivahaanapi sarvavidyaaH
kurvannijaanana gaNaachchaturaananO(a)sau |putreShu teShu vinidhaaya sa sargavR^iddhim
apraapnuvamstava padaambujamaashritO(a)bhuut ||
Brahmaa then brought out the Vedas and all the Puraanas and all the other branches of learning, from his four faces and taught them to his sons. He then found himself unable to further the process of creation and so he took refuge at Thy lotus feet.
Dasakam: 010 -- Shlokam: 10
जानन्नुपायमथ देहमजो विभज्यस्रीपुंसभावमभजन्मनुतद्वधूभ्याम् ।
ताभ्यां च मानुषकुलानि विवर्धयंस्त्वं
गोविन्द मारुतपुरेश निरुन्धि रोगान् ॥१०॥
jaanannupaayamatha dehamajO vibhajya
striipumsa bhaavamabhajanmanutadvadhuubhyaam |
taabhyaaM cha maanuShakulaani vivardhayamstvaM
gOvinda maarutapuraadhipa rundhi rOgaan ||
As he was not able to continue further 'creation',he meditated upon the lord. Wisdom dawned onhim and he symbolically divided his body intotwo halves i.e. the "MALE" concept and the "FEMALE" concept.From the Male concept emergedthe first man in the world,SWAYAMBHUVA MANU and from the female concept sprungthe first woman in the world, SATARUPA.They were the first man and womanwho multiplied the species of man toits present level of population explosion.
" O Lord of Guruvayoor," concludesthe author of "Narayaneeyam" at theend of the 10th Dasaka, Guruvayurappa ! Oh Thou who multiplies the human race ! Thus, please save me fromall my affliction
