In this world, under the influence of the three gunas (Sattva, Rajas and Tamas),various matters, like knowledge and faith, doer and dwelling, joy and action, fall into three different categories of low, medium and sublime, according to the degree of their different kinds and different gradations,However, this differentiation is absent inThy temple, Thy worship and everything else connected with Thee, as these transcend the three gunas. By resorting steadily to these, I shall soon attain perfection

O Lord!, Keeping my mind fixed on you and spending this life,Offering thought words and action as an offering to you. I will go to the holy places, where Thy devotees go, or where they went in the past. I will maintain an equal minded behavior towards a robber or a Brahmin and also towards animals. Shedding the defective mental attitude of dishonor, honor, enmity, jealousy etc., I will worship Thee in all beings

Till my mind firmly and truly recognizes that a Brahmin and a thief, Are different forms of yourselves, I would continue worshipping you,Always as indicated earlier till I get to know that the soul is one entity,And spend all my life with you only , Oh Lord! Once the practice of Bhagavata Dharma is begun, it cannot be totally lost. Therefore. O Lord! set me on the captivating path of devotion.

O Lord! To bring to practice this path of Bhakti Yoga, I need good health and long life. Fortunately, to achieve this I need to do is to surrender to your lotus like feet,And wonder of wonders ,this is like drinking milk to cure diseases, Long ago, Maarkandeya was told by an astrologer that his life span was of twelve years only. He worshipped intensely at Thy feet for one year and when death approached, it was driven away by Thy emissaries.

Always inclined towards worshipping Thee, Maarkandeya was thus endowed with a blessing of living for ever. He continued to do penance on the banks of Pushpabhadraa river and revelled in incomparable bliss for six manvantras. In the seventh Manvantra, the Indra there, tried to seduce him with the help of celestial damsels, soft breeze and Manmatha the god of love. all of whom soon came to grief by being scorched in the fire ofMarkandeya's penance (Yoga) and failed in their mission. Who can, indeed, everovercome Thy devotees ?

Thou as sage Naaraayana, along with Thy friend Nara,Very much wanted to see Markandeya and paid a visit to him,And that Markandeya praised you continuously by several prayers, But refused any boons from you , though you were prepared to give any boon,And when you compelled him, he requested you to show him Maya(illusion),For he being a sage without any desire and mind filled with devotion, Was not aware of the sorrow caused by Maya and wanted to see it, Out of his simple curiosity and sense of wonder.

As soon as Thou left, the clouds were tossed about by unruly winds and torrential rain waters made the waters of the seven seas overflow, submerging the whole world. Maarkandeya wandered in these waters for millions of years. Exhausted, he saw far away, a wonderous Infant, Thee alone, with the body with a blue hue, lying on a banyan leaf, with the toe placed in the lotus mouth.

Thrilled on seeing Thee (as the child on the Banyan leaf), Markandeya, with hairstanding on end all over his body, rushed towards Thee, wishing to touch Thee, and was immediately sucked in by the inhalation of Thy breath. Inside Thee, he saw all the worlds. Then, on being ejected by the exhalation of Thy breath, and being overjoyed by the touch of Thy side-long glance, he reached out to embrace Thee. However, on Thy sudden disappearance, he found himself back in his hermitage as before.

Lord Shiva, along with Gauri went to Maarkandeya, desirous of seeing Thy devotee. He gave the boons of freedom from old age and death etc., without being asked for, which the sage had also acquired by his penance. In this manner, Lord Shiva was also pleased by the worship of Thee alone. This also clearly shows that Thou are Trinity itself Brahmaa Vishnu and Shiva , and also the inner controller of all

In the Satyaloka, in three parts, placed one above the other are located the abodes of Brahmaa Vishnu and Shiva. Above all these is the realm of Vaikuntha which is free from the effects of Maayaa and Prakriti, there, in the Causal Waters as also in the house of cowherds, Thou do shine in a pure Sattvic form as Sat Chit Brahma a mixture of Sath and Chith. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Do save me from all diseases.
