Narayaneeyam Dasakam:71Slaying of Keshi and Vyomaasura

Slaying of Keshi and Vyomaasura
Keshi was a mighty demon, whose appearance was that of a wild horse. Like all demons, he can take any form, but the horse form was his natural one. When he went to battle, he took this form, and no one on earth had the power to even stand against such a mighty horse with powerful hoofs. Even the Devas would tremble, when Keshi whinnied his war cry. Kamsa knew what Keshi could do, but he also knew what Krishna could do to demons like Keshi. Yet, he was not averse to the idea of sending Keshi to Krishna. This wicked Asura, even though he had assumed the form of a Gandharva frightened all the worlds with his fierce voices. the way he stood on his hind legs and waved the hooves made everyone run hear and there in fear and tears.

.
Krishna saw the demon Keshi the Horse  and went straight to a whinnying Keshi and took the fighting posture. With a terrifying war cry, Keshi came thundering down on Lord Krishna, in an intention to trample him. But, Lord Krishna decided to punish the horse, and jumped away and caught hold of Keshis hind legs. , and placed his strong club like arm into his mouth. At that time the arm increased in size and choked the horse to death. Even though the Asura was in the form of a horse, he attained oneness with Krishna.By killing that horse (the sacrificial animal in the Aswamedha Yajna), Krishna  perform a new kind of Aswamedha (shorn of its rituals). The celestials, in their delight at Thy deed, praised Krishna by Thy new appellation, "Kesava" (slayer of Kesi.

Kamsa never grew tired of sending demons after demons in attempts to kill his nephew, Lord Krishna. But, none of the demons came back alive. They never came back at all. Every one of them was killed either by Krishna or Balarama.

One day, Kamsa sent a demon, by name Vyomasura. This demonic character had a special power. Normally he appeared as a harmless bat, but when he decided to create trouble, he would enlarge his body a million times. Then he would kill and wreck havoc. He even had the habit of drinking the blood of his victims.

Vyomasura went to Vrindavan and hid in the mountains. Krishna and his friends used to go daily on that way, as the cows found good pasture in that area. Once the cows were put to browse on the grass, Krishna and his friends would start to play. That day, while they were playing Lambs-Thieves-Guards, Vyomasura deceitfully kidnapped the unassuming friends of Krishna, one after another, and put them inside a cave. He then sealed the cave with rocks.

Lord Krishna sensed this and rushed to the cave. There, the bat demon was just lying on a rock at the entrance. Krishna took him and held him in his firm grip. Vyomasura initiated his gigantic form and tried to grow. But, Krishna held him more firmly and consequently Vyomasura was choked.

As Vyomasura gasped for breath, Krishna released him and then there was fierce battle between the two. At the end, Lord Krishna threw Vyomasura down on the ground and killed him. He then released all his friends from that cave.

Narayaneeyam Dasakam-70 SALVATION OF SUDARSHANA

In this manner, as Krishna were entertaining the Gopikaas and they were immersed in bliss, . Nanda had taken a vow that when Krishna became twelve years of age, he would offer a special worship to the family goddess, Ambika. Along with neighbours and friends, Nandagopa  went to the temple of the goddess with gifts of milk, curd, butter ,milk-sweets. Thou went along with them to the temple which was in the forest named Ambikaa.

After the divine festival had been performed, they all slept happily in the night. Then a fierce snake swallowed Nanda Gopa. When the snake did not loosen its hold even after being severely beaten with burning logs of wood, the Gopas appealed to Krishna for help. Krishna rushed to his father's rescue. He touched the back of the snake with his foot. At once, the ugly python changed into a handsome and shining vidyadhara, who bowed low before Krishna with folded hands.

Krishna asked him who he was. He replied, "My name is Sudarshana. I am a celestial magician. I had become very proud of my skill and beauty. One day I had gone to the forest in my chariot. There the Rishi Angira was sitting in deep meditation. I flew over himin my chariot a hundred times. Aroused from his meditation he cursed me intobeing a python, saying that I would be released from it by the grace of Krishna. That is why I came and seized Nanda Gopa’s foot. Please forgive me." With deep prostration, he mounted his chariot and sped away to Swaragaloka.

The world was engulfed in the highest bliss as the Raas Dance ended. After that ,Oh Lord you blessed the entire world with a great joyous state, And also stopped the love sports and  those beautiful Gopis ,Who were more pretty due to their body being covered with sweat ,Due to the great effort involved in the dance sport of Rasa Kreeda,And whose mind was not able to tolerate their demands of passion, Thou assumed as many forms as they were in number and performed an amorously great festivity.

O Lord! The women were exhausted by the varied sports and were fondly caressed. Thou performed sports with them at will in the waters of Yamunaa.Thou also went around in the forests where a cool gentle breeze was blowing filled with the fragrance of flowers, which dazed the large number of women with estatic joy

Gopika Geetham

Gopika Geetham

Gopikaa Geetham is the celestial song sung by Vruja Gopis in praise of Lord Krishna. This projects the depth of Viraha Thaapam suffered by Gopis when Krishna diappears and their pure Prema Bhakthi and the highest spiritual heights attained by them. This song also brings out the Sringaara Rasam of Gopis with Krishna.

RAASAKREEDA in the Tenth Skantham(middle) of Bhaagavatham. This is to be sung with devotion, in rapt attention and reverence without any Thaala or sounds.
Gopis who enthralled in the presence of Krishna with ecstasy during the Raasa Leela, thoughtless about their worldly duties, relations and existence and always longed for Krishna's company, had developed an EGO, i.e. each Gopi claiming that Krishna is hers and hers alone and He likes/loves her only. He disappears temporarily from there midst and made Himself not reachable by them. At this time, Gopis felt loneliness and could not concentrate on their work and grieved over the absence of Krishna.
When Krishna suddenly disappeared from the company of the gopis, they started searching for him in every place. Unable to find him, they started behaving in strange manner. They asked the trees, plants and animals in the forest whether they have seen Krishna? Unable to get any answer from them, they asked each other about the whereabouts of Krishna. After much searching, they all sat down fatigued and started imitating the different pastimes they had with Krishna. Some gopis found the footprints of Krishna and begin to follow them Soon they saw another set of footprints beside the imprints of lotus-feet of Lord Krishna.
That very moment Krishna immediately disappeared under her and Radha  was left hanging on the branch. All the gopis came where Radha was hanging from the branch of the tree and heard everything from her. They felt sympathetic about her and together, they proceeded in search of Krishna. When they were unsuccessful in their endeavor, they set down on the bank of River Yamuna and started chanting the glories of Krishna. They repeatedly requested Krishna to appear again. On hearing their plea, Krishna reappeared before the gopis and tried to pacify them.

 THE RASA DANCE:

Thus hearing Krishna speaking to pacify them, the gopis became very happy. After this Krishna began the Rasa dance. Krishna danced amidst the gopis.  Krishna multiplied himself into many Krishnas and each form stood beside every gopi, so that each gopi thought that Krishna was dancing with her alone. There were three kinds of rasa going on simultaneously. One: Kanha and one gopi, personal meeting. One: Kanha and two gopis, social meeting. One:  Gopis encircling Radha Rani and Krishna while all their senses centred around Krishna, the final and lasting meeting. The dance was a perfect tuning of rhythm, body movements and music. The movements of their extremities, earrings, hair with flowers and their smiling at each other produced a wonderful dance. To see this wonderful dance, many demi-gods accompanied by their wives had arrived in the sky. The Gandharvas and Kinnaras began to sing and showered flowers on the dancers.
